This item is shipped in a protective wood crate via freight truck directly to you. The trucking company will call you to set up an appointment to deliver it. They can bring the crate into a garage or similar location, but they do not carry it upstairs or help you open the crate. If you have specific questions about delivery, please contact us.

Grotta Sonora's 40" Gamelagong is made in the style of their Giant Gongs, but with a welded rim. The rim of Giant Gongs has a soft folding, where the metal is actually curving, while the Gamelagong rim is welded, creating a 90 degree edge. The presence of a more prominent rim helps to focus and accentuate the overall sound of the gong, creating a very deep, focused fundamental tone with long sustain and strong presence.

Each gong in their line of Gamelagongs has its own, unique etching and design. Each gong is not only beautiful in sound, but stands on its own as a work of visual art.

Grotta Sonora Gongs are made from an alloy with a high presence of nickel mixed with stainless steel. This special mixture creates a gong that is both physically durable and sonically complex, perfect for sound therapists working with gongs, or composers looking to experiment with unique sounds.
